Been sent a payment link by your law firm?
Law firms use Claims Gate Pay to pay their clients their share of a settlement. Here's what to expect, and how to check a message is genuine.
What happens
It takes about two to three minutes.
Open the link
Your law firm sends you an email or text with a secure link. It has their name on it and the link lasts 72 hours.
Confirm it's you
Enter your name, date of birth and postcode exactly as your law firm recorded them.
Add your bank details
Your UK sort code and account number. Your bank checks that the name matches the account.
Get paid
Once your firm has sent the payment, it usually arrives within a few hours.
Is it genuine?
- It comes from your law firm The email or text carries your law firm's name and the name of your claim.
- It only asks for what's above Your name, date of birth and postcode, then your sort code and account number. Nothing else.
- Not expecting it? Check first Contact your law firm directly, using contact details you already have, before you enter anything.
You will never be asked for
- Your online banking password, PIN or a one-time passcode from your bank
- Your card details
- A fee or any payment to release your money
If a message asks for any of these, don't reply and don't click the link. Contact your law firm.

I can't find the link.
Open the most recent email or text message from the law firm paying you, and tap the link inside.
It says my details don't match.
Your name, date of birth and postcode have to match what your law firm has on record. If you've moved or changed your name, contact your law firm.
Who do I contact about my payment?
Your law firm. Claims Gate Pay runs the payment process for them, but they decide when and how much you are paid.
Your money is held by Link FX, a payment institution authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN 535266), until it is paid to you.
