The problem
Settlement systems are not designed to get people paid.
Legal payments systems are designed to give your firm a way to distribute funds. They are not designed to make sure the highest proportion of your clients actually claim their settlement.
1 in 9
reviews of a leading UK legal payments platform are one-star. The most common complaint: nobody answers the phone or replies to emails.
Analysis of 696 public customer reviews, September 2026
47%
of complaints about legal services are about poor communication or delay. More than any other kind of complaint.

We're here to change that.
Chasing
We keep going until the money lands.
Most unpaid clients aren't refusing the money. They missed an email, or didn't trust a link from a name they didn't know. So we don't stop at one message. We chase every client, on every channel, until they're paid.
- Every channel, in sequenceEmail, text, WhatsApp, a letter to their home, then a phone call. Each one follows up on the last.
- Your firm's name on every messageClients hear from the firm they instructed, not a company they've never heard of. We protect your reputation, not ours.
- You see exactly where each client stoppedDelivered, opened, clicked, identity confirmed, bank details in. Nobody falls through the gaps.

For your finance team
However the money arrives, every pound reconciles.
Complex settlements arrive from dozens of defendants, in tranches, on different dates. Claims Gate Pay follows every pound from the day it lands to the client it pays, so your finance team never rebuilds it in a spreadsheet.
- Each tranche tracked on its ownEvery payment in is recorded as its own source of funds. You can always see which defendant's tranche paid which client.
- Each payment tied to a named clientName, amount and reference on every payment out. Nothing pooled, nothing estimated.
- An audit trail your auditor can followStatus, Confirmation of Payee result and Link FX reference on every payment, exported to CSV for your ledger.
- Unclaimed money, always visibleSee what's paid, what's waiting and who still needs chasing, at any point.
Interest on client money
The interest belongs to your clients.
We make sure they get it.
The SRA Accounts Rules require you to account to clients for a fair sum of interest on money you hold for them. On a settlement paid out over weeks, it is easy to miss and slow to work out by hand.
- Worked out for each clientInterest on each client's share, for the days it sat in your client account.
- Paid with their settlementAdded to what each client receives, so nothing is left to put right later.
- A record for your COFARate, period and amount on every payment, ready if the SRA asks.

How it works
Three parties. Each with one job.
Your firm decides. Link FX holds and moves the money. Claims Gate Pay does everything in between, and never holds client money.
- 01Your firm
Fund and import
Connect the settlement's source of funds and upload your clients from a spreadsheet.
- 02Claims Gate Pay
Collect bank details
Each client gets a secure link from your firm, confirms who they are and enters their own account details.
- 03Your firm
Authorise
An operator prepares the payment and an approver signs it off. Above your limit, two people must.
- 04Claims Gate Pay
Screen
Sanctions, PEP, insolvency and identity checks run on every authorised payment. The decision stays with you.
- 05Link FX
Pay out
Link FX confirms the payee and pays from your safeguarded account by Faster Payments. FCA-authorised, FRN 535266.
- 06Claims Gate Pay
Track and reconcile
Every payment is followed to a final state, with its Link FX reference and a full audit trail.
Client paid. Claims Gate Pay never holds the money.

Control
Built for the people who sign off client money.
- Dual authorisation
- Above a limit you set, two people must sign off before a payment moves.
- Roles and two-factor sign-in
- Operators prepare, approvers sign off, viewers read. Two-factor sign-in is mandatory for everyone.
- An audit trail on every payment
- Who imported it, who approved it, what was checked and when. Ready for your COFA.
- Imports that answer for every row
- Upload a spreadsheet of clients and download every rejected row with the reason.
- Your firm's name, not ours
- Clients see your branding, and emails can come from your own domain.
- Hosted in London
- Client data stays in the UK and can be erased on request.

Does Claims Gate Pay ever hold client money?
No. Funds sit in safeguarded accounts with Link FX, an FCA-authorised payment institution (FRN 535266), which executes every payment. Claims Gate Pay never holds funds or controls accounts.
Who makes the AML decision?
Your firm does. Claims Gate Pay runs sanctions, PEP, insolvency and identity checks and shows you every result, but they are advisory. The final decision always sits with you.
What happens if a client gives the wrong bank details?
Link FX runs Confirmation of Payee and bank verification before anything is paid. A mismatch stops the payment with a stated reason, and the client can be sent a fresh secure link.
How do we reconcile against our client account ledger?
Every payment carries its status, its Confirmation of Payee result and the Link FX confirmation reference. Your accounting system stays the record. We give it the evidence.
Can clients see our firm's branding?
Yes. The client journey and every email carry your firm's name and branding, and emails can be sent from your own domain.
More of your clients, actually paid.
See a settlement run from import to paid, and what it would do for yours.
